Without the CAS, I probably would have gotten a C in Chem 1201. When you stressed how important it was to preview and review and study 2 hours a day or so, I was in shock, but I followed the guideline and got myself an A.

I have discovered the Math Tutoring Center this semester. I really want to thank you and all the staff for all the hard work and dedication that I received. Everyone has been great and supportive at some of my most stressed days. Thanks to you and the staff I am certain I will end up with an A in Calc 1550.

The methods and information that I gained at the CAS completely changed the way I learn and how I study.

I no longer panic at test time and am confident in the material that I have studied.

While talking to the [CAS Consultant], I didn't feel like 'just another number at LSU', but an individual. She helped me feel confident about being a freshman and that I could be successful. Her advice, visual descriptions, and services will completely change how I view my experience here. I know that I can do it now!

The different levels of studying were very intriguing. I realized that my studying needed to go to the next level. [The CAS Consultant] was very motivating and I will take her advice to ace my exams.

[The CAS Consultant] was not there just to give me tips. She really helped me learn and understand what I needed to do to prepare in advance.

I felt encouraged, motivated, and willing to go beyond my routine.

Hi! I graduated from LSU in December 2005 and just wanted to say that I still come back to the CAS website on LSU's website each year to get the Weekly Planner pdf. I am in grad school now in Tennessee and my school does not offer the weekly planner sheet so I've managed to print it each year and spread the word to all of my classmates here. Hooray for LSU and the CAS center!

I took Calculus 1550 during the Spring of my Freshman year. I had a hard time understanding a lot of the problems because I hadn't taken math for two years so a lot of the basic algebra and trig skills were rusty to nonexistent. I struggled during the semester and hardly ever got correct answers on the homework. I began to get very frustrated and eventually stopped doing the homework. Obviously my grades fell as I stopped working problems. I had to take a W by the end of the semester. Now, Fall of my Sophomore year, I was told about the CAS tutoring center in B39 Allen and now in their new beautiful home in 141 Middleton. I go there to do all my homework and studying. I love the tutoring center. Now when I can't get the right answer, I get the help I need to understand the algebra or trig behind the problem and quickly reach a correct answer. My studying takes 1/2 the time it used to and the best part is I have a much better grade in the class. I don't feel frustrated and while I still have to work really hard in Calculus, I feel like I am actually advancing my math skills. I would never have made it through Calculus 1550 without the CAS and in not being able to pass that class would have to give up my dreams of going to medical school and becoming an Orthopedic Surgeon. THANKS CAS!

I had a great tutor from CAS. I have always been terrible at Biology but got a 96 on my first 1001 test!
